Lisa Olivia Munn grew up in Oklahoma City. Kimberly Schmid lived in Vietnam having Chinese origins, and Winston Barrett Munn's clan has roots that go back to the American South. Olivia was just two years old when her parents split up. She was raised by her stepfather as well as her mother who was also a United States Air Force member. While the family left Oklahoma and lived in a variety of places, she was educated within Tokyo, Japan. It was where she appeared in theater productions throughout this time and became a fashion models for the Japanese industry. As the family retreated home to United States, Olivia moved to Los Angeles to pursue her dream of becoming an actress. She started her acting career by playing a minor role. Then, her career gained momentum when she was cast in the role of Mily Acuna on the Hawaii-lensed TV show Beyond the Break (2006). In 2007 she portrayed Rob Schneider's receptionist. The G4 podcasts include "The Daily Nut" along with "Formula D". Her passion for surfing has been a constant after the TV series Beyond the Break. Black belts are hers in taekwondo. The woman she married was her mother at the age of two years old to an Air Force official. The majority of her childhood was spent in Tokyo, Japan where her stepfather was a member. She attended at the University of Oklahoma, where she earned a degree in journalism. She also minored in Japanese as well as dramatic arts.
