Ani Difranco

Angela Maria Ani DiFranco - a Canadian as well as an American singer/songwriter. Over 20 albums were released by her. DiFranco's music is classified as folk, alternative and rock but she also draws influences of jazz and hip-hop. Ani Difranco has been widely recognized as an icon for feminist music. In the year 1990 she was one of the first people to launch her own independent record label. DiFranco is the daughter of Elizabeth (Ross), and Dante Americo DiFranco. They were introduced at their school, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Her father was of Italian descent and her mother was born in Montreal. Ani DiFranco wrote and sang 32 Flavors. This song appeared on her fifth studio album Not a Pretty Girl which came out in 1995.
